Pacific Jungle is super stoked to be working with Westbay Music Group and thirtyninehotel, as well as Nu Soul Magazine to bring you a little something different. This summer seemed a nice time to step outside of our little DnB Box and step into the sun with some extra fresh beats from all around the world. (“Don’t Sweat It” though, Saya says there will be lots of Brazilian DnB for all you heads to get a little fix while rockin your shades!)

Westbay’s boss-man, Atlantic Connection played Subphonix last December and loved Hawaii so much he’s here in Honolulu for the summer kickin it with the Pacific Jungle crew.

“I wanted to create an afternoon of brasil, soul, nu disco; good vibes, throwbacks, eclectic people, dope sunglasses & cool t-shirts. Over the past year I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Norman Mayers of Nu Soul Magazine LA (one of the most talented event coordinators in southern California) doing my LA event Soul Good and it’s schooled me on how to develop an event like this from the ground up. I got to Hawaii in early May and thought, what am I gonna do this summer? Being from LA I was spoiled with options, which spur ideas in places that aren’t so flooded with scenes, so I said hey, let’s create a day time outdoor party but bring totally new qualities and details to the event unique to local promotions. So I called my good friend DJ Saya at Pacific Jungle to get her input and advice on doing something like that here. We teamed up, scouted locations citywide and fell in love with thirtyninehotel – felt it was the perfect venue for this style of event…well here we are, ready to rock. I can’t wait.”

AC and Saya will be your hosts for the summer with rotating residents including 45 Revolver, Ramyt, T.K.O. and Jamz. Special guests will be rolling through from all over to lay down some extra special sets, but you gotta pay attention ’cause we’re not announcing them til the last minute.

Hawaii get ready! Pacific Jungle prepares to launch its 4 year anniversary event with an arsenal of the island’s best in drum and bass! Our show is poised for take off with tag team sets from every corner of the genre, along with a roster of long-time scene veterans and rising stars all sharing one thing in common – their strong commitment to the music and making Subphonix a undisputed music staple for Honolulu.

Over the last year, JAMZ has pushed the sub-frequency in Chinatown to another level with his bass heavy Dubstep sets. A major proponent behind the Honolulu Dubstep scene, if he’s not tearing up the back patio at Broken Liquid or in the bass den of Subphonix, he’s spending time designing flyers, digging for tunes, or crafting beats in the studio. Catch him this Friday as he opens with an exclusive Ragga-Dub set and finishes the night off with some str8 heat for all you Hardstep heads. You don’t wanna miss it!

T.K.O.
If you didnt know, The Tele.Kinetic.One. has been making major moves on the forefront of the EDM scene in Honolulu. Whether it’s his radio show on KTUH, his record store on Ebay, or his monthly gigs in Chinatown, T.K.O. is consistently pushing the emerging genres of Dubstep, Grime, and GlitchHop to the hungry underground community. His sets are most notable for their intense energy and defined selection, pulling out the freshest unreleased tracks that he’s accumulated through endless hours of networking. This Friday guarantees to be a pleasure for anyone that enjoys quality beats with bass.

Thread
Artisan of the needles, Thread has been on the cutting edge of the Dubstep scene in Honolulu since its conception. Being true to the Vinyl DJ culture, there has been no record in the worldwide Dubstep movement that has missed this man’s ear. And Threads commitment to Dubstep doesn’t stop there, as he spends the majority of his time in the lab producing unforeseen dopeness yet to come. If you’re searching for the deepest bass you can find on the islands, Thread promises to give you that gut-punching whomp to keep your heads nodding all night. Expect nothing less than the crunkest beats and the fattest bass-lines from this man on Friday.
